SMALL ENGINE REPAIR IN CINEMAS FROM JULY 20TH

UK based Guerilla Films have secured the rights for the UK and Ireland and plan to release the film theatrically in Ireland from July 20th 2007. The UK release will follow later in the summer.

Small Engine Repair scooped the two main awards at the Nashville Film Festival - the "Nashville Film Festival/Regal Cinemas Dreammaker Award" for best feature and the Audience Award for best film. The film, which stars Iain Glen and Steven Mackintosh, was written and directed by Niall Heery and produced by Subotica Entertainment. It features a strong country music soundtrack incorporating songs from the likes of John Prine, Bobby Bare Jr, Todd Snyder and The Silver Jews – many of whom were in attendance for the screening in Nashville.

Small Engine Repair has done very well on the international festival circuit since it was completed in the summer of 2006, winning awards and garnering very positive audience and press responses wherever it has screened. The film premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh in July where it won Best Film.

Since then it has screened at the Dinard Film Festival in Brittany and the Times BFI 50th London Film Festival in October. It was also selected to be showcased in LA as part of the US Director's Finder Series, in association with the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland and the Directors Guild of America. It won Director’s Choice Award at the Boston Irish Film Festival in November.

It recently picked up the Breakthrough Award for writer/director Niall Heery at the 2007 Irish Film and Television Awards. It went on to win the Audience Award and Best Actor for Steven Mackintosh at the Cherbourg-Octeville British Irish Film Festival in March 2007.
